Woman reported flagging down cars

On Jan. 24 at 4:16 p.m. police responded to a report of a woman reported flagging down cars on South Bedford Road in Bedford near Chestnut Ridge Road. She told an officer she was waiting for an Uber her daughter called for her to bring her back to the city. She said her phone died and she was unable to reach her daughter. She accepted a courtesy ride to the Bedford Hills train station and declined further police assistance.

He won’t stay away

A man, 21, from Bedford Hills was arrested twice in 24 hours on Jan. 25 and Jan. 26 on Babbitt Road, Bedford Hills, charged with criminal contempt and disobeying a court order. Police say he’s the on and off again boyfriend of a Babbitt Road resident who has a court ordered stay away. Police say this isn’t the first time and that he was arrested twice on the same day for the same reason in November 2023. On Jan. 25 at 3:13 a.m. he was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he remained overnight until a judge could arraign him the next day. He was released on his own recognizance and the next day returned to his former girlfriend’s home where he was reported on the premises by a third party. At the time of his second arrest, bail was set at $5,000. Unable to make bail, he was transported to the county jail. His former girlfriend told police he was intoxicated when he showed up, which upset her.

Speeding driver injured

A male, 65, from Patterson, N.Y. was transported to Westchester Medical Center by Katonah Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps Jan. 25 at 6:45 a.m. for injuries to his head and groin following a single-car collision near the intersection of Babbitt Road and Harris Road in Bedford Hills. The operator told police he was traveling too fast on Babbitt Road when he lost control of the wheel and traveled over a grass median before crashing into a utility pole. His car was towed from the scene by Flatbed Towing. The utility was notified of damage to the pole. No citations were given for speeding.

Nothing to see here

On Jan. 25 at 4:50 p.m. police responded to a caller requesting a welfare check on a woman walking her dog on Old Post Road in Bedford. The dog walker was located and said there was no problem and she was just walking her dog. No further action was taken.

Trouble with Verizon

On Jan. 26 at 12:05 p.m. police received a 911 hang up call from a residence in Katonah on Ridge Road. The resident said the number was called by accident and there was no problem and they were just having a problem with Verizon.

Gathering in the park reported for too much noise

Police went to the Katonah Memorial Park in Katonah Jan. 26 for a reported large gathering at 10:52 p.m. that was said to be noisy. On their arrival they say they observed a small group of people leaving the area without incident.

Gone on arrival

Police went to Byram Lake Road in Bedford Hills Jan. 28 at 7:35 p.m. for a report of a man pushing a woman into a car and driving off. They searched the area without result. As the reported location of the incident was close to New Castle, that police department was also notified to look for the vehicle.
