Baby deer, dogs in shopping carts and a $75,000 ring stolen and a fired nanny who just won’t go….

Music, with cursing

A caller June 10 reported loud music and cursing coming from a location on Boulevard. Police responding saw a group of people playing ball on a field with music playing. They agreed to turn the music down and police said there was no issue.

Identity theft

Identity theft was reported June 10 by an Overhill Road caller who said she was out $20,000 for a loan fraudulently taken out using her son’s identity. She said she did take a $1,000 loan out in 2020 and hadn’t paid it back. A police report was requested.

Stolen earphones

Another caller on Overhill Road June 10 said her daughter’s earphones were stolen June 7 while she was at the Scarsdale Middle School. She said she would be in contact with the school but wanted a police report for documentation.

Assailant returns to store

A Yonkers man, 47, was arrested June 10, charged with an assault that took place a few days earlier at a grocery store on E. Parkway. The victim is a 61 year old Bronxville man. At the time of the incident, June 5, witnesses reported two male customers were involved in an argument. The victim at the time of the assault was transported to the hospital and the perpetrator had left the area. Police say the two are strangers. Patrol went to the location June 10 when an employee reported the assailant had returned. Police arrived and he was arrested and brought to headquarters. Police described the man as having violent tendencies and said he committed an act of unprovoked violence.

Speed and you will get caught

A driver was arrested June 11 on Walworth Avenue. Police say they were speeding and a traffic stop was initiated. When the officer ran the plates, it was revealed the registration had expired. The operator’s license was suspended on two different dates. The driver, a Yonkers man, 27, was placed under arrest, brought to headquarters, issued a summons for speeding and other violations, and released on his own recognizance. He is slated to appear in court June 26.

Bench sleeper

Police received a call June 12 from a person reporting someone sleeping on a bench near the taxi stand on E. Parkway. Police spoke with the person who said they didn’t want any help.

Supplies delivered to the wrong address

A caller June 12 on Elm Road reported a pallet delivery of roofing caps left on their driveway. They are not having roofing work done and believe the delivery was left at the wrong address. Police couldn’t find any shipping label or invoice on the pallet and advised the homeowner that if a reasonable amount of time passed and no one came to retrieve it, they were free to do with the roofing caps whatever they wanted.

Dogs in shopping carts

A caller reported June 12 a woman on Chase Road pushing two dogs around in a shopping cart. Police found her in the park; she said she was new to town. She declined assistance and said she’d be moving on.

Baby deer (not reindeer)

A caller on Griffen Avenue June 15 said a baby deer had fallen into a window well on their property. Police arrived and helped the young deer out; it was uninjured and leaped into the woods, hopefully to reunite with its mother.

What was she yelling about?

An older woman was reported June 13 yelling inside a restaurant on Harwood Court. An employee said the woman had been served her food but now was refusing to leave. She left swiftly when police arrived.

Woman finds strange checkbook on the back seat of her car

A woman came to headquarters June 12 to say she found an old checkbook that didn’t belong to her on the backseat of her car. She said she noticed it while running errands that morning and normally keeps her car doors locked. The checkbook owner, a Tarrytown man, 85, was contacted and said he would come to headquarters to retrieve his property. He didn’t indicate how it got into this woman’s backseat. Police advised him to monitor his accounts and check in with his bank.

iPhone reported stolen

Larceny was reported June 12 by a Richlieu Road resident who said their iPhone valued at $700 was stolen. They told the police they had a good idea who stole it, describing a skinny man, about 5’8” with black hair wearing a hooded jacket and a baseball cap.

Screaming, but not for help

A caller on Barry Road June 15 reported hearing a woman screaming for help. Police went to the residence and spoke with the individuals living there who didn’t deny the screaming but said they didn’t need help.

A hissing sound

A caller June 15 on Mamaroneck Road reported hearing a hissing sound while walking through a parking lot. She thought a tall, skinny man she saw working on his car might be the source. Police arrived and thought the sound was coming from a fan located on the roof of an adjacent building. No odor of gas was detected and they didn’t see any tall skinny men.

Stolen jewelry

A woman came to headquarters June 16 to report items missing from her home on Fenimore Road. One of the items missing was a ring valued at $75,000. Another object was valued at $3,000. The reporting party said the missing items went missing for a few days while her home was undergoing some construction.

Watch out for those left hand turns

Two people were transported to Westchester Medical Center June 14 following a two car collision on Fenimore Road near Walworth Avenue. One driver was making a left hand turn when it collided with another driver.

Car collision sends one person to the ER for ear pain

A person who complained of ear pain was transported to the hospital via ambulance following a two car collision on Fenimore Road near Oak Road June 15. One car was attempting to make a left hand turn when the collision happened. Both cars were towed from the scene.

You’re fired, now go

A couple on Overhill Road June 16 told police they fired their live-in nanny but now she won’t leave. Police responding advised the nanny it was time to go and assisted in her peaceful departure.
